Solar Hot Water
Solar water heating systems utilise the sunlight and uses the heat to work with your conventional boiler system. In domestic systems the panels or collectors fitted onto your roof collect the heat from the radiation of the sun.

About a third of your hot water needs can be provided by your solar hot water system.
It's important that a solar installation must be fitted on a roof facing South. For a domestic system, 3 to 4 square metres of roof facing southeast - southwest and receiving sunlight directly for the main part of the day is required. A new twin coil unvented hot water cylinder is also required for the system. Solar panels cannot be adapted into an old hot water generating combination boiler system.
