Solar Hot Water
Solar water heating systems use heat from the sun to work alongside your conventional boiler.
For domestic hot water, Solar panels or collectors are fitted to your roof. These panels will collect heat from the sun's radiation.
Solar water heating can provide you with about a third of your hot water needs
You will need 3-4 square metres of southeast to southwest facing roof receiving direct sunlight for the main part of the day for a domestic system. You'll also need space to locate a new twin coil unvented hot water cylinder. Existing cylinders cannot be adapted.
An important requirement of a Solar installation is that they must be fitted onto a South facing roof. Solar panels cannot be incorporated into an existing Combination boiler system as they generate hotwater instantaneously.
